Updated Hairstyle Options
Ode to bangs. Yes, fringe and curtain bangs are still going to be a thing this year, but if you aren’t prepared to commit to more defined bangs, wispy bangs are a great choice. The soft, piecey look of wispy bangs is going to become a popular look this year and goes great with any hair texture. Your stylist can customize them for you to give you the length and density to fit your personality and hairstyle.
Blunt bob & lob. The blunt cut is still going strong for a natural, easygoing choice with little maintenance. Whether you choose the shortness of a bob or keep it a little longer as a lob, this hairstyle can be worn either with your natural texture or sleek and smooth to give you the versatility you desire.
Layers galore. Layers, and lots of them, are going to continue into 2022. Layers make for a highly versatile hairstyle with tons of movement. Long, medium, short hair – no matter your choice, layers can personalize your look and give you the texture you want. If you like to wear your hair up, be sure to let your stylist know so they can work in longer layers so you can still enjoy your favorite updos.
The new & improved shag. Typically we’ve been seeing long hair in the modern shag hairstyle. However, this year we’re going to see the shag both in shoulder-length and even as a bob. The layers and shorter length will give you a more defined look with a lot of movement and texture. You can wear this hairstyle regardless of your hair texture and experiment with or without bangs.
The Bixie. This pixie-length haircut with a slightly-longer bob length on top is going to be hot this year. The added length on top will add volume and shape to your hair while giving you the short hairstyle you crave. You may remember this style in the 90s, but we’re finding that many hairstyles this year will be reminiscent of times past.
Hair Color Options
Chunky highlights. We’ll be seeing a lot of chunky highlights this season, but instead of the high-contrast styles reminiscent of the early to mid-2000s, these 2022 highlights will be more subtle. They’ll incorporate shades closer to your base for subtle sophistication but still offer high dimension.
Red shades. If you’re a natural redhead and want to add some depth to your hair color this year or decide to incorporate some red highlights into your natural blonde or brunette base, ask your Von Anthony stylist about some auburn or copper highlights. These are good vibrant choices to give you a warm hair color whether it’s an all-over color or highlights.
Brunette shades. Over the past few weeks, we’ve seen some of our favorite celebs opt for medium, warm brunette shades in chocolate, mocha, and chestnut. Although darker is more popular during the winter months, we definitely see this trend continuing into 2022 as a variety of rich, deep brown hues jump on the top of the list.
