Bring Out Your Skin's Natural Glow With Hair Color
NEWS | 04/15/2023 Bring Out Your Skin's Natural Glow With Hair Color

Everyone wants a beautiful, golden, sunkissed complexion. There’s nothing else that accentuates your hair and eyes quite so well. Many hours are spent soaking up the sun during the summer months to achieve that golden glow, but what do you do the rest of the year to keep your complexion, hair, and eye colors in balance? You boost your complexion with fresh hair color! It works both ways. Not only can your skin tone make your hair and eyes pop, but your hair can also enhance your complexion. So what hair colors will bring out your natural glow?

Hair Colors To Enhance A Fair Complexion

When you’re choosing a hair color to boost a fair complexion you need to consider more than just skin tone. Your eye color will also play a role in determining the best hair color for you. You know you have a fair complexion if your skin is pale and always burns rather than tans. Chances are that without the help of a good sunless tanner or spray tan you won’t be able to achieve a deep golden glow, but you can warm your complexion by warming up your hair.

Light Eyes- Platinum blonde seems to be a trend among celebrities with light eyes and fair complexions at the moment, but before you decide to hop on the bandwagon you may want to reconsider. While this look is quite stunning, if the natural undertones of your skin aren’t a good match with platinum it will leave you looking washed out and ghostly. If your undertones are warm, platinum may work well for you, but some better choices would be a warmer sandy blonde or rich chocolate brown. If your undertones are cool, steer clear of platinum if you don’t want to look like an ice queen. Instead, opt for cool copper tones or beige blonde.

Dark Eyes- Dark eyes are more than just brown. Green, hazel and even blue eyes can be rather dark as well. It’s about the depth of color more than the shade. You need to be careful when choosing a hair color to compliment fair skin and dark eyes. If your hair is too dark it will make your skin appear even more pale, and going too light with your hair is not flattering either. Your stylist can help you find that delicate balance that pulls everything together. Some colors you may consider for a warm complexion are blondes and browns with caramel or honey undertones. If your complexion is cool ashy blonde and brown tones will be more flattering. And if you’d like to go red, think about a  medium auburn.

Hair Colors To Enhance A Medium To Neutral Complexion

Medium skin tones always retain a little sunkissed color, even in the dead of winter. To brighten and warm up medium skin opt for a rich mocha brown with blonde or copper highlights. On the lighter end of the spectrum try a warm honey blonde. And if you’re one of those people that have been blessed with a neutral complexion, there are no limits for you. You can pull off any hair color you want, but if you want your complexion to glow, go with a color that has a golden undertone.

Hair Colors To Enhance Dark Skin
If you’ve been blessed with dark skin it’s not hard to bring out your glow!  Light chestnut brown, honey blonde, silver, and even bright shades of pink and purple are very trendy right now, and they enhance a dark complexion beautifully. Think warm, sandy colors for a subtle effect, or go high contrast with a super light or bright color to really turn heads. You’ve already got the glow. It’s up to you how you want to rock it.
