Fall is now in full swing with shorter days and cooler nights. And while we may be sad to say goodbye to summer a new season brings gorgeous new hair colors to try. If you’ve been waiting to update your look for fall, now is the time. Ready to see what color trends this fall has to offer? Grab a cup of cocoa and a warm blanket, snuggle up and read on.
Toasted Smokey Chestnut- Chestnuts are synonymous with fall. Since it’s such a familiar fall color it’s not surprising that it’s one of the top choices for hair this season. A dark toasty chestnut color gains depth and interest from splashes of smokey gray throughout. It’s the perfect neutral shade to compliment your fall wardrobe.
Midnight Velvet- Brunettes are having fun with their color this fall. Matte midnight black with blue and purple undertones impart a magical effect on your mane, kind of like a dark unicorn. It’s a velvety and mysterious look that is sure to turn some heads.
Honey Gold- For those that want to hold onto their sunny blonde summer strands, update your color with a wash of honey. A honey balayage or lowlights is a great way to tone down your summer shade to make it more appropriate for fall.
Timeless Platinum- Platinum blonde is a timeless shade whose icy feel is perfect for frosty fall mornings. It’s a gorgeous neutral shade that provides a striking contrast to the deep, rich golds, copper, and jewel tones that dominate fall fashions.
Burnished Bronze- If you want to give a fall vibe to medium brown tresses, this is the color for you. This soft brown with hints of aged copper shimmer is warm and earthy- it’s a perfect color for the autumn season.
Metallic Copper- Copper is a classic color for fall, but this season it comes with a twist. Strategic highlighting with a golden undertone and a high gloss mirror-like shine give this shade the illusion of shimmering metal.
Dark Chocolate and Honey- If you love high contrast color you’ll love the rich dark chocolate base and sweet and creamy honey highlights of this look. This is where blonde and brunette collide and the results are stunning.
Deep Auburn- This is a great fall update for gingers. Any red is classic for fall, but this dark red-brown is more fitting for the darker days of autumn than the light and bright coppers of summer. But if you want to hold on to some of your summery shade ask for an auburn ombre and leave your tips light and bright.
Keep Your Color Looking Amazing- The biggest problem with finding a hair color that you absolutely love is that it will eventually fade. But there are some things that you can do to keep your color amazing for much longer. The first thing is to cut back on the frequency of shampoos. Most people only need to suds up their strands a couple of times per week. You can use tinted dry shampoo between washes to freshen up as needed. When you do shampoo, reach for one that is free of sulfates and formulated for color-treated hair, and always follow with a high-quality conditioner to keep your hair well hydrated in the cool, dry autumn air. Glazing every four weeks is another way to prolong the life of your color. The glossy coating helps seal the dye inside the hair shaft so that it is protected from washing away, and a color gloss can give already fading strands a much-needed boost.
